Stationed in upstate New York, Country Tobacco offers the finest cigars and cigarettes on the market with a walk-in humidor and a fine collection of rare cigars.

They’re always looking to improve their catalog and help customers find products that fit their liking.

The Soil Makers wanted us to create a branding system that was ornate to represent their craft in soil blends and amendments. They loved our previous work with filigree and ornaments and felt this would be the best approach in their new upgrade.

We knew that the branding would need to be responsive and the smallest point would be the monogram with TSM. The rest of the layouts would be centered around this. After the monogram layout was approved, we moved to the intricate line work.

revise

During this stage we cleaned up the line work and incorporated a shield to give the makers an emblem of strength and craftsmanship. This would also allow easy placement into badges and letterheads for future use.

refine

The majority of their clients come from the cannabis market and they wanted to represent themselves in the space. So we incorporated bold, indica fan leaves and shovels to represent the soil they work with.

We imagined since their soil is organic, living, and elite on the market, the intricate linework would make it seem like the masthead wascoming alive and the brand out of the soil.

Our drafting process is extensive. We set up a target for your design and aim for it. Along the way, we’ll be sending you updates to make sure the project is going as you envisioned.

Research

Whether you're upgrading your existing brand or just starting out, we make sure to find the exact style that will make your brand sing to your audience. We collect a wide range of inspiration pieces to match the vibe you're going for and set up a target to hit in our rough draft stage.

rough

We sketch our ideas on an iPad and to bring us to a fundamental layout and texture to match the brand vision. Revisions are easily made at this stage with the flick of a pen.

revise

After a rough draft is chosen by the client, we enter the vector realm. Here we can get done to the nitty gritty details and spruce them up to a crisp and clean image that can be used anywhere from a label to the sign of a store.

refine

Combing through the small details isn't just a one step process. Adding color and working with packaging to make sure your brand looks professional is a task we love to handle. Print tests and mock ups are made to see the brand out in the wild.

render

The final stage is ushered in once all details, colors, typography and layouts are completed. We set up the files necessary for print, work with factories to make sure everything goes smoothly, and bring you a final product that'll be sure to capture your eye.
